PRIVATE FIREARM OWNERS WANTING TO APPLY FOR COMPETENCY AND FIREARM LICENSES IN SOUTH AFRICA
Before you may possess a firearm, you must obtain a firearm licence from the South African Police Service. You need a licence for every firearm that you possess.
Potential firearm owners must successfully undergo the prescribed training at an accredited training institution and obtain a training certificate and PFTC Statement of Results (SOR).
So, the first step would be to find an Accredited Training Provider who is accredited with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC). For a list of accredited training institutions, click here.
Once you have found an accredited training centre in your area, establish what training you would like to do. Make sure that your Instructor and Assessor is accredited to provide you with the training you require.
Feel free to contact any of GFT Affiliated Training Providers for all your firearm related needs!
